Systems Administrator (Full-Time)
We are headquartered in California, but your location can be anywhere between Pacific and Central time zones. Work will mostly be via web conferences and phone and hours of work will be based on US – West Coast time. All training and work will be done remotely wherever you are, but you need to have a reliable internet connection.

A typical TenisiTech Client environment includes:
- A Cisco/Meraki, Fortinet, or Palo Alto Networks network environment including WiFi and VPN
- An SSO/IAM tool or Active Directory
- Hosted or on-premise server environments including email and other productivity tools such as web conferencing, instant messaging, VoIP phone systems

What kind of person are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with 5+ years of experience designing and managing enterprise-level infrastructure. An ideal candidate will have some larger enterprise IT experience but enjoy the breadth of managing IT in a smaller company.
You should have hands-on experience implementing various IT solutions, managing them using provided management consoles, and fine-tuning them based on monitoring/audit data that you know how to find. You should have an expert approach to troubleshooting, and understanding how to rely on knowledge bases, admin documentation, Google, and vendors for assistance.
You should be adept in at least one item in each category:
- Cloud computing – Azure, AWS
- Windows Server – Active Directory, Group Policy
- Virtualization – VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V
- Storage – Hyper-convergence, SAN, NetApp, Hitachi, Dell
- General Networking – Fortinet, PaloAlto Networks, Cisco/Meraki, including WiFi and VPN
- Backup & Recovery Applications: Backup Exec, BackupAssist, Veeam
- Monitoring Tools: Solar Winds, Logic Monitor, ManageEngine, Auvik
- MDM Solutions – AirWatch, JAMF, Intune, Maas360, Endpoint manager, or Meraki
- VoIP – Shortel, Avaya, Ring Central, Jive
- SSO/IAM tool – Okta, Centrify, OneLogin, Azure AD
- Email – O365, M365, Gmail, Exchange
- Encryption – Filevault2, BitLocker

Key Responsibilities
- Manages the day-to-day operations of customer infrastructure by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. Ensures that records of system downtime
and equipment inventory are properly maintained. Applies revisions to host system firmware and software. Works with vendors to assist support activities. - Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability. Trains technical staff in how to use new software
and hardware developed and/or acquired - Performs troubleshooting and leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations
- Installation and management of the host computer operating systems, disk arrays, fiber channel switches, tape libraries, and other components
- Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission-critical host computer resources
- Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse
- Configures and maintains backups and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications.
- Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
- Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together
- Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
- Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
- Design and deploy networks; Maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways
- Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services
- Administer servers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, company mobile phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches

Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits. The Company pays 70-100% of employee benefits, depending on the plan selected. You will become eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following your start date.
401K and Profit Sharing
Employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan offered through Empower as of your first anniversary with the Company. Plan entry dates are the 1st of January or the 1st of July, depending on your first anniversary. The company will contribute 3% of your salary regardless of your enrollment of the 401(k) Plan, once you are eligible for the program.
Employees will automatically be enrolled in the Company’s profit-sharing plan after their first month anniversary.
Short-term Disability & Life Insurance
The Company pays 100% of short-term disability and life insurance premiums.
PTO & Holidays
- The Company offers 200 hours of PTO, per year.
- The Company does not observe specific holidays as our work requires us to support our clients’ business hours. However, we do not expect employees to work on holidays. PTO should be taken for holidays you wish to observe.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The holder of this position will encounter typical office and travel environments. This position requires the employee to be in good physical condition. While performing the job duties, the employee must have adequate auditory ability and be able to communicate verbally. The employee is often required to sit and drive. The employee is also required to travel via airplane as needed, which involves sitting in an airplane for extended periods of time, lifting luggage or personal items, and being comfortable with flying. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, or balance. Visual abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee will perform light to moderate lifting (40 pounds or less to waist level) and carry with some stooping or crouching to pick up items. The employee must have visual acuity to see clearly up close and read on paper and the computer smaller fonts (10 to 12 point) and to safely operate a vehicle.
